OBSESSED | Cane, Wicker, & Rattan

Date

We’re a long way from the 1970s photo prop, the peacock chair, but not far enough away from the IKEA SINNERLIG pendant lamp. I kid. I kid. The IKEA SINNERLIG is an extremely popular item that I’ve seen used in so many different ways and spaces by designers and homeowners alike. If you’ve considered buying it or curious, find some IKEA SINNERLIG inspiration here. I love that rattan and cane are popular again. I’ve always loved it and the idea of bringing it indoors. I don’t need any new furniture, but strongly considered buying a piece on my recent trip to Crate and Barrel.

Prior to quarantine, I took regular aimless trips to home stores. I take my time going through each aisle, touching items, and dreaming of spaces where these items can live their best lives. My fav stores include Crate and Barrel, Home Goods, Room & Board, Restoration Hardware, Anthropology, and HD Buttercup. On a recent trip to Crate and Barrel, I saw a gorgeous cane bed that made me rethink my budget.

Isn’t this bed beautiful? I finally unglued myself and went upstairs to only hearing it calling me to return and take a look at the price tag again. Where does that little voice come from that says, “it’s only…”? Check out this beautiful cabinet at Target.

The color black was so beloved it sold out, but leaving it here as inspo. A DIY project can get you here.

Finally, the IKEA SINNERLIG. I love how they used two in this dining space. Which is your fav? Let me know in the comments.
